5 Eye Makeup Looks That Are Super Easy

Eye makeup is an integral part of any look, but it can be challenging to master. For some, it can be difficult to come up with the perfect look. Don’t worry; it’s actually not that hard! You'll need a few basic products, but you can create several different looks once you have them.

Some looks are super simple, and others may seem challenging. All of the looks are easier than you may think. We’re going to go over five eye makeup looks for you to try. You will find out how to make your eyes pop and will complete any makeup look.

Eye Makeup Looks To Try

There are endless ways to make your eyes stand out. Before you attempt these looks, prime your eyelids so you have a blank canvas.

You can use a concealer or foundation to prime, like HIDE Premium Concealer or foundation. Then, use a damp makeup sponge and a little bit of product to press it evenly over your lids. After, your eyes will be ready for one of these five looks.

1. One Shade Wonder

If you are just a beginner or don't have a lot of makeup, try a one shadow look. This look is popular with many makeup artists and is super simple to achieve.

You can use any color of eyeshadow for this look, from pink to brown. You can also use any shadow finish, from matte to shimmery. Start at the lash line and apply the shadow all the way up into your crease. Take a blending brush, and defuse the color around the edges.

This look is ideal for people with hooded eyes since the single shade can be the focal point and open up the eyes. You can also add a light shimmer in the inner corners to add dimension.

2. Shimmery Eye Look

A shimmery eye look is great for parties or a night out. You want to find a shimmery eyeshadow shade you like, but make sure it's shimmer and not glitter (trust us, there’s a difference). While glitter eyeshadow has its place, for this look, you want a shimmer. Watch out for labeling that says things like micro-glitter or sparkle.

After priming your eyes, apply the shimmer shadow all over your lids. In the corners, pick a deeper shade that matches the shimmer color to add dimension. Finish by highlighting your inner corner.

3. Golden Days

A gold shadow can be flattering on many different skin tones. It brings a natural-looking warmth to the face.

To achieve this look:

  1. Start with a brown shadow on your eyes' inner and outer corners.
  2. Take an eyeshadow brush and apply a gold shadow on the center of your lids.
  3. Use your blending brush to blend the two shades together.
  4. Use a liner brush to line the gold eyeshadow on your bottom lash line.
  5. Finish off the look with mascara on your top and bottom lashes.

4. Soft Smoke Show

Nothing is better than a smokey eye. A soft smokey eye is one of the most effortless looks to achieve.

The soft smokey eye starts with a brown eyeshadow over the lid. Next, go over the area with a black eyeshadow and blend it out into your crease. After, line your upper and lower lashline with black eyeliner. Also, line your lower lash line with a little of the brown shadow to smoke it out as well. Finally, finish the look off with a few coats of mascara on the top and bottom lashes.

Another tip is to use concealer on your undereye circles because the darker shades can accentuate them. HIDE Premium Concealer is highly pigmented and can cover any discoloration you may have.

5. Defined Crease

If you think you can handle something a little more challenging (but nothing crazy), consider a defined crease look. This look is a smokey eye look with a little more drama, perfect for an evening event.

  • Step 1: Take a black eyeliner pencil and draw a line along your crease and upper lash line and connect the lines at the corners.
  • Step 2: Next, use a small brush to blend out the eyeliner to create a smokey effect.
  • Step 3: Use a nude shadow on the empty space on the lids. This look is a sort of cut-crease. Also, apply the nude shade on the brow bone and blend it into the crease.
  • Step 4: Apply your black eyeliner on your lower lash line and apply mascara for the finishing touch. If you want to elevate the look even more consider applying false lashes.

Keep the rest of your makeup simple, like light pink blush and a nude lip.

Makeup Product Basics

To achieve these makeup looks, you will need a few essentials. Here are products to consider having in your makeup bag.

  • Concealer/Foundation: Concealer and foundation are probably already in your makeup collection, and they can make great eyeshadow primers.
  • Eyeshadows: You will want a variety of different shadow colors, but that doesn't mean you need a ton. Look for a nice highlighter shade, gold, a few brown shades, and black. You may also want ones with a few different formulas like matte and shimmery.
  • Eyeliner: This product is great for defining the eyes. Black eyeliner can be great for more dramatic looks. Brown eyeliner can be ideal for natural looks and on your bottom lash line if black is too intense.
  • Mascara: Mascara is one of those holy-grail products. If you only ever apply one eye product, mascara should be it. A single coat can give your eyes definition and open them up. Several coats can make your eyelashes appear fuller, which is a great technique for more dramatic looks.

You will also need a few eyeshadow brushes of various sizes. If you don't have naturally curly eyelashes, consider an eyelash curler to help you add the appearance of length. Always make sure your products and tools are clean to avoid complications like infection

Eye Makeup That Fits Your Eye Color

Specific eye makeup can accentuate different eye colors and make them pop. Here are colors and ways to make your eyes stand out.

  • Brown: If you have brown eyes, you have many options that will work. Shades like cobalt blue and green will make your eyes pop by bringing out the flecks of brown. You can add definition with black eyeliner and mascara.
  • Blue: Blue is a cool tone. Anything in the warm tone family will offer an excellent contrast. Think earthy tones like brown and taupe. Try to stay away from blue eyeshadow because it will look dull next to your eyes. If black looks too harsh on your lash line, use a chocolate brown.
  • Green: Since green eyes are already bright, you don't need vivid shades, but you can still use different colors. Purple and mauve eyeshadows will look great in contrast with your eye color.
  • Hazel: Hazel eyes are a mix of green and brown, which means the rules that apply to these colors also apply to hazel eyes. Using eyeshadows with gold in them will enhance the gold tones in your eyes. You can also play with different purple shades.

    In Summary

With the right products and techniques, you can achieve almost any eye look. By following the tips and tricks we discussed, you can enhance your eye color and define the shape of your eyes.

One of these five simple looks will work for any occasion. HIDE premium products can provide an excellent base for all of these looks. The products work as a primer to make your eyeshadow last all day!
